A Dreamy October Wedding at Barns & Yard: Lucy & Mike's Special Day

As the crisp October air settled in, I had the honor of photographing a truly unforgettable wedding at Barns & Yard at Hanley Hall in Malvern. This magical day marked not only my last wedding before heading into maternity leave but also my final wedding of 2023. It was a momentous occasion for me, and it couldn't have been more special, considering my close connection to the bride, Lucy.

Lucy and I had crossed paths a couple of years ago on the 'mum circuit' as our daughters share the same age. I had the privilege of capturing precious motherhood moments for Lucy in the past, which made her feel at ease and ultimately led her to entrust me with the most important day of her life – her wedding.

A Thoughtful Bride:

Lucy, the radiant bride, put her heart and soul into planning every aspect of her special day. Her attention to detail was remarkable, and it was evident from the moment I arrived at the venue. She had carefully curated every element of her wedding to ensure it was a reflection of her and her Mike’s love story.

Lucy's Thoughtful Gesture:

One of the most heartwarming moments of the day was when Lucy surprised the suppliers, including me, with snack baskets. What made it even more special was that she included some of my pregnancy cravings. It was a thoughtful gesture that showcased Lucy's caring and considerate nature. Such acts of kindness truly encapsulated the love and warmth that surrounded this event.

A Perfect Setting:

The Barns & Yard venue was the perfect canvas for Lucy's vision. It effortlessly combined the modern and rustic elements, setting the stage for a romantic and elegant celebration. The ceremony space was nothing short of breathtaking, adorned with rustic charm and beautiful green and white florals. The highlight, however, was the picturesque lake in the venue's grounds, adding an enchanting touch to the overall setting.

An Autumnal Dream:

The weather on the big day was mild and pleasant, enhancing the beauty of the season. The golden leaves and the gentle breeze added an ethereal touch to the occasion. The earthy, warm color palette of the wedding décor perfectly complemented the Autumn backdrop, making it a visual feast for all in attendance.

Reconnecting at the Engagement Shoot:

Before the wedding day, Lucy and her partner had an engagement shoot in Worcestershire. It was a day of joy and excitement as I reunited with Lucy and her family. The photos captured the love and connection between the couple, and it was clear that their journey was one filled with love and happiness.

Final Thoughts:

Lucy's October wedding at Barns & Yard was an experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart. The combination of a meticulously planned day, a thoughtful and caring bride, and a beautiful venue created an enchanting atmosphere. It marked the perfect ending to my wedding photography journey in 2023 as I prepared to embark on the incredible adventure of motherhood (again!). It is moments like these that remind me of the profound significance of capturing love, joy, and connection in people's lives. Lucy and her partner's wedding was a reminder of the beauty and magic that exists in every love story, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.

As I step into my maternity leave, I look forward to capturing more beautiful moments like Lucy's wedding in the future. Love is a timeless and universal story, and I'm excited to continue sharing it with the world, one photograph at a time.
